Apple Music and Sonos have partnered to create a new ad that was shown during tonight’s Grammy Music Awards. The commercial comes days after Apple Music officially launched on Sonos, allowing Sonos customers to stream Apple Music content and direct access to Apple Music features like For You, Radio and My Music.
The ad features musical artists Killer Mike, Matt Berninger and Annie Clark using Apple Music on Sonos speakers to „defeat silence“ in their homes. The ad and its stars argue that sharing loud music in your home can promote creativity and happiness. Previously, Sonos conducted a study a study on the positive effects of music listening in the home. The study, which used an Apple Music subscription paired with a Sonos speaker, found that families who regularly listened to music in their home spent 67 percent more time together, ate meals together more often and other positive effects.
Streaming Apple Music on Sonos speakers can enabled by selecting „Add Music Services“ from a Sonos controller app, selecting the Apple Music logo and logging into the service. Either an Apple Music subscription or free trial are required.Прочетете повече

A Creative Cloud update that was recently released by Adobe has been deleting Mac users’ files without warning, reports Ars Technica. The 188.8.131.52 update, now pulled by Adobe, deleted the contents of the first folder listed alphabetically in a Mac’s root directory. Files were deleted after the update was installed and users logged into the Adobe service.
The bug has affected customers in different ways depending on the content that was listed first in the directory. Many customers who use backup service Backblaze had problems with the service because a hidden root folder called .bzvol was the file that was listed first and subsequently deleted. Backblaze made a video demonstrating the issue:
As Ars Technica points out, many Mac users’ first folder is .DocumentRevisions-V100, which is used by the Mac’s autosave feature and can cause problems if deleted.
The Adobe bug could also have dire consequences for users who have important folders with spaces in them, since those also assume a top alphabetically sorted spot on the Mac hard drive (which by default is labeled Macintosh HD).
An Adobe spokesperson said the company is investigating the issue and has pulled the distribution of the update until the problem is fixed. Creative Cloud users should avoid updating until a clear fix is provided by Adobe, and as an extra layer of precaution, a fake folder with a name that will place it in the top spot in the root directory may also help users avoid issues.Прочетете повече
Apple today launched a worldwide replacement program for the USB-C charge cables that were shipped with the 12-inch Retina MacBook through June of 2015, as these cables can fail „due to a design issue.“
According to Apple, affected cables may cause the MacBook to not charge or to charge intermittently when it is connected to a power adapter. Cables with the issue can be identified by their labeling, which reads „Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in China.“ Redesigned cables have the same text, but also include a serial number.
Apple is providing new, redesigned USB-C charge cables to MacBook owners with faulty cables at no cost. In addition to cables that shipped with the MacBook, the replacement program also includes faulty cables that were sold as standalone accessories.
Customers who supplied a valid mailing address when registering their product or purchasing it through the Apple Online Store will receive their new cables automatically, while other eligible MacBook owners can contact Apple Support, find an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or visit an Apple retail store to get their cables replaced. Affected USB-C charge cables can be replaced under this program until June 8, 2018.
The Retina MacBook first went on sale in April of 2015, so the problematic cables were sold for approximately two months before a redesigned version was released.Прочетете повече
