Aspyr today released classic Command & Conquer game Command & Conquer: Generals Deluxe Edition in the Mac App Store, letting fans of the title play the game on modern Macs for the first time in years. The Mac App Store bundle includes the original Command & Conquer: Generals game and the Zero Hour expansion pack.
First released in 2003, Command & Conquer: Generals stands apart from other games in the series because it takes place in the near future, and features the United States, China, and the fictional Global Liberation Army terrorist group.
The new version of the game available in the Mac App Store has been optimized for modern Macs, with support for Retina displays and the 5K Retina iMac. While it does offer multiplayer support for up to four players, the Mac App Store version of Command & Conquer: Generals is not multiplayer compatible with the original Mac release or the original PC release.
In a time of modern war, recent military aggressions around the globe have many nations worried. Between the United States, China, and the Global Liberation Army, tensions run high. Their leaders profess no interest in escalating the situation, but words ring hollow when satellite photos tell a different story.
Minimum system requirements include 2.2GHz CPU speed, 4GB RAM, and 5GB disk space. The following graphics cards are the minimum supported: (ATI): Radeon HD 3870, (NVidia): GeForce 330M, (Intel): HD 3000, 256 MB VRam.Прочетете повече
While the Apple Watch is not expected to be released until April, luxury and couture product design company Brikk today announced a line of 30 luxury models for the upcoming smartwatch that they claim, „will afford unmatched opulence to an exclusive clientele worldwide.“
Similar to the Apple Watch in terms of sizes, the line of Lux Watches will be available in 38mm and 42mm, with color options of 24-karat yellow gold, 18-karat pink gold, and 950 platinum alongside varying band options. There are also three editions to the line: Standard, Deluxe, and Omni. All versions of the Lux Watch are prepared through disassembling Apple Watches that the company then repurposes with their luxury materials in a „state-of-the-art laboratory.“
The basic Standard edition offers a single row of diamonds (.50 carats) and a leather strap, while the mid-tier Deluxe has multiple rows of diamonds (2.3 carats), diamond encrusted buttons, and a diamond studded clasp on its leather strap.
The Lux Watch Omni edition in 24k yellow gold with 12.3 carats of diamonds
„For the ultimate in exclusivity,“ Brikk offers the Lux Watch Omni edition with a fully diamond-emblazoned case resulting in over 12 carats of jewels on the device. The company promises only the highest end of luxury and satisfaction in purchasing one of their new line of high-end devices, which they’ve done before with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
The Lux Watch line stands out thanks to its meticulous production processes. Each piece is disassembled inside Brikk’s state-of-the-art laboratory in Los Angeles by a team of skilled engineers. They are hand polished, then plated with five layers of diverse metals before their final plating in either two layers of gold or platinum. High quality diamonds (color D, clarity VVS1) are set with a microscope in a custom-machined bezel. Each piece is then reassembled and tested before shipping to clients.
The line will set those interested back $7,495 for the Standard, $11,995 for the Deluxe, and $69,995 for the Omni, and all prices fluctuate slightly higher for larger sizes. Brikk promises that each comes in a „Zero Halliburton aluminum case with carbon fiber interior“, with a user manual, the expected accessories, a 1-year warranty, and a diamond-studded certificate of authenticity.
While Apple has taken a decidedly fashion-skewed angle in beginning to market the Apple Watch, Brikk’s new diamond-encrusted offerings appear to be a more straightforward answer to those looking for more of a statement with the new wearable.
Pricing guesses have jumped between $10,000 and $20,000 for the high-end Apple Watch Edition, so while the Lux line’s lower-end models could fall in line with Apple’s own mid-to-upper tier models, the Omni edition offered by Brikk may in fact be the most expensive version of the Watch on the market when the device launches this Spring.
Those interested in the Lux Watch line can visit Brikk’s official website to place a pre-order, which requires a deposit and is expected to ship between 4-6 weeks following the official Apple Watch launch in April.
The team says the new edition of the game has been „rebuilt from the ground up“ to access the power of the Unity 5 gaming engine. They also tout that the Remastered edition is the first commercial game to „fully utilize“ the power and functionality of the Unity 5 engine, allowing for a deeper, more vividly realized world with physically based shading, real-time global illumination, and reflection probes.
“Ever since we committed to doing a desktop version of République, we’ve been haunted by the task for delivering something truly special for PC players,” says Ryan Payton, designer at Camouflaj. “When we got a glimpse at the next iteration of Unity we realized that this was the answer — beyond redesigning the game’s controls and UI for desktop, we’ve completely gutted all the game’s art, rebuilding everything using Unity 5’s cutting-edge graphical features. The result is something you have to see to believe.”
The game follows the story of Hope, a young woman attempting to evade capture from a mysterious, overbearing sect of the government intent on capturing her. Putting the player directly into the game, Hope tasks gamers to hack cameras and survelliance systems to safely guide her through the byzantine levels she finds herself trapped in. The game has garnered much attention since its release on iOS in late 2013, with our sister site Touch Arcade commenting that, after the first episode, the game was „shaping up to be a masterpiece.“
The new Remastered edition will come with the first three episodes of the game – „Episode 1: Exordium,“ „Episode 2: Metamorphosis“ and „Episode 3: Ones and Zeroes“ – and include a Standard and Deluxe Edition.
The Standard Edition will retail for $24.99 and will include pre-purchase codes for the final two episodes of the story: „Episode 4: God’s Acre“ and „Episode 5: Terminus.“ The Deluxe Edition includes all of this plus the complete soundtrack, an hour-long „making of“ documentary, and two early prototypes (exclusive to the desktop version) for $34.99. Each will receive a 20 percent discount during the game’s initial launch week.Прочетете повече
EA has announced SimCity BuildIt for iOS, bringing another iteration of the ultra-popular PC game franchise to Apple’s mobile devices. Like the other titles in the series, SimCity BuildIt allows players to build and maintain a city through the construction of businesses, houses, government buildings, roads, and more.
The choices you make evolve your city in a variety of ways. Meet your citizens’ needs to keep them happy, or make questionable choices and feel your citizens’ wrath.
The title will make use of the touchscreen on iOS devices by allowing players to pinch, zoom, and rotate around their city, as EA is promising „vivid 3D-quality graphics“ for the game. SimCity BuildIt marks the second time that EA has released a SimCity game for iOS, as the company released SimCity Deluxe for the iPad in 2010. A Mac version of the latest SimCity title was also released last August.
EA has yet to announce a release date or pricing for SimCity BuildIt, however the company states that more details on features will be released soon.
